What's next for Mitt Romney? The Republican presidential nomination finally in hand, he will spend the next three months trying to undercut President Barack Obama on the economy while portraying himself as Mr. Fix It for a nation with stubbornly and painfully high unemployment.

Romney also faces key decisions between now and his acceptance of the party's nomination in late August in Florida: Where should he compete most aggressively? Who should be his running mate?

At the same time, he must dive anew into fundraising and work to win over voters who are distracted by their own summer plans and day-to-day pocketbook worries ? while withstanding Obama's attacks on his own claims as a jobs creator.

Not that Romney is publicly sweating the hurdles that come with being the little-known challenger to a personally popular president.

"People will get to know me better," Romney told Fox News in an interview that aired Wednesday, the day after he sealed the GOP nomination with his primary election victory in Texas. He says the general election campaign is only beginning even though his chief challenger dropped out more than six weeks ago.

With a smile, he said of the voters, "My guess is they're going to get to know more about me than they'd like to by the time we're finished."

As if on cue, Obama's campaign opened a fresh critique of the GOP nominee-in-waiting, assailing his economic record as governor of Massachusetts. It's the second phase of an effort by Obama to define Romney negatively in voters' eyes. The Democrat already has spent weeks hammering the Republican on his record at the private equity company he founded.

Obama himself made a courtesy call to Romney to congratulate him on his nomination victory. An Obama aide said the president told Romney in a brief and cordial chat that he looked forward to debating America's future with him.

Romney spent the day in California, plunging into a week filled with fundraisers and efforts to unite Republicans after a divisive primary season. Already he's proven adept at both, hauling in enough cash to cut into the advantage that Obama has while getting most of his former Republican rivals to close ranks around him.

Those efforts ? and the turning of his primary campaign into a general election operation ? have been his prime focus. He's making only a handful of public appearances for now, but aides say they expect the campaign to ramp up to a full sprint by July 4. Romney has said he plans to take a week off around the holiday, suggesting that may be the time when he makes final deliberations on whom to choose as his vice presidential nominee.

Little is known about just where in that process Romney may be, though there is no shortage of Republican rising stars informally auditioning for the role.

While work on that front is certainly going on behind the scenes, Romney's aides are spending this week publicly pressing anew a criticism that the candidate himself has been making for months against Obama. They're highlighting the hundreds of millions of dollars in economic stimulus money that the administration provided to Solyndra, the solar-energy company that went bankrupt and whose executives had contributed to Obama's campaign.

It is a sign of the overarching argument Romney will make against Obama in the coming weeks: that Obama's economic efforts have been politically motivated, have wasted taxpayer dollars and, ultimately, have failed.

The renewed Solyndra criticism is also an attempt to answer Obama's recent criticism ? in speeches and advertisements ? of Romney's tenure at the helm of Bain Capital. Obama has argued that Romney's time as a private equity executive before entering politics ? the basis for his campaign's claim that he's best suited to lead an economic recovery ? was aimed at enriching shareholders, not serving the public.

Romney largely survived that opening salvo, judging by early polls and interviews with both Republicans and Democrats.

National surveys show Obama either statistically tied with Romney or only slightly ahead of him. And polls in the most hotly contested states show Romney competitive with Obama.

"They haven't worked," GOP strategist Charlie Black, an informal Romney adviser, said of the Bain criticisms. "People are worried about the economy and jobs."

Democratic strategist Steve Elmendorf said too few voters had heard the argument.

"The reality is it's June," said Elmendorf. "To say the Bain argument has worked or not is ridiculously premature."

A handful of swing-voting states will be the most hard fought as Obama and Romney aggressively build get-out-the-vote organizations and air a flood of advertisements in their efforts to reach the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.

Across the country, Romney's campaign is going through growing pains as it seeks to turn a stripped-down primary operation into a full-scale general election campaign. Aides say offices will open and more staff will join the team, but they also say they don't anticipate being able to match the staffing levels of Obama, who has had teams in place for months in states like Florida and Ohio. The Republican National Committee also is in the midst of boosting its staffing to help Romney.

Already, Obama's and Romney's campaigns, as well as super PACs supporting and opposing each, have spent more than $80 million in advertising on the general election campaign through the month of June, according to ad-tracking reports provided to The Associated Press by Smart Media Group of Alexandria, Va.

Of that, Obama's campaign has spent $31 million-plus on TV ads in about 10 states. He's been on the air most heavily in Florida, Iowa, Ohio and Virginia, an indication of where his team may think the race will be won or lost. A Democratic-leaning super PAC also has been on the air to help him, though it's spent only about $6.3 million.

Romney himself has run ads in just five battleground states: Iowa, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia. But he's been significantly helped by pro-Romney outside groups, who have been on the air in several others ? most heavily in Florida, Ohio and Virginia.

Even so, Republican outfits, including Romney's campaign and supporting super PACS, have combined to spend about as much as Obama and his allies. And in the coming weeks, Romney plans to focus heavily on fundraising so that he'll be able to make strategic decisions about where to devote most of it state by state.

To that end, Romney is spending the week courting donors in California, starting Wednesday in Fresno, Bakersfield and in Hillsborough, a wealthy enclave just outside San Francisco.

He planned major fundraising events Thursday, Friday and Saturday in southern California. On Tuesday, Romney was in Las Vegas wooing Sheldon Adelson, the primary financing source of a group that backed Newt Gingrich's failed primary campaign. And Romney also attended a fundraiser hosted by Donald Trump.

BACKGROUND:

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself before you got into running your site? What is your background in?

I was in the car audio trade years back. I was fitting sounds system, and so then I started selling car audio online. All was good until I got hit by a scam and got taken for R 30K (South Africa Rand).

Then I started to play with WordPress and started selling paint ball equipment online. Then I opened a shop in Port Elizabeth but closed? it down about three years later. At that time I started my BlogLines site.

Splogs? I love them as they make me money. I use ProSites to limit the number of posts. Then they have to upgrade, and yes they do.

I was wasting my time killing them, but now I know to work with them to make me money.

I only remove content if I get an email asking me, but if there is porn, they get banned for life.

Goolge Webmaster tools (it showed me where to look for more traffic), and I used some JUNK link software. I also used Google Adwords. Don?t waste your money, just keep working on your site. :)

I don?t. They just come as we have so much stuff listed on Google. It is easy. Just post something on?BlogLines.co.za, and go google it. You will see it popping up on Google page 1.? :)

And guess what ? our Page Rank is only 3 with Google, but I guess?content is KING.

As you can see from the slide above, we are looking at a 10.8 inch tablet, 1366x768 resolution, dual core Atom processor, fingerprint reader, Intel graphics (x86 tablet folks), 2 GB of ram, 128 GB SSD and of course it will be running Windows 8. We should note that it looks a lot like the Dell Latitude ST, naturally the specs have been upgraded and it will run Windows 8.

A key feature of the tablet will also be a removable battery that will come in two flavors. We are hearing that the smaller battery will get 6-8 hrs of battery life and the larger battery will get 10-12 hours.

We highly suspect that Dell will be putting out more than one tablet and the specs above represent one model of possibly several that will hit the market. We are hearing that this tablet will be ready for launch in the late Fall/November time-frame; we have not heard any information on pricing at this point.?

If you recall, we brought light to the HP Windows 8 tablet that is currently in development which puts this Dell model in good company. Absinthe 2.0 Arrives to Jailbreak Apple's iOS 5.1.1

A new version of the tool used to unlock iPhones and iPads hit the Internet this week, giving daring users the ability to unlock their devices, even if they run Apple's latest iOS 5.1.1 operating system.

The software, called Absinthe 2.0, was announced Friday at the Hack in the Box security conference in Amsterdam. It allows users full access to their iPhone's and iPads through jailbreaking -- a process which removes the limitations imposed by Apple on devices running their software.

With this, users can download additional applications, extensions and themes that are unavailable through the official Apple App Store.

Speculation surrounding the release reached a tenor when the software's developers, Jailbreak Dream Team, were announced to appear at the 2012 Hack in the Box conference.

"This was certainly one of the most highly anticipated talks we've EVER had at one of our HITB conferences, and we've done quite a few of these," said Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran, Founder and CEO of Hack In The Box. "The excitement from the Dream Team followers and overall Twitter and online buzz has been terrific!"

The software works by exploiting security holes in Apple's own operating system. Apple first released iOS in 2007 with the original iPhone and has since been updating and refining the software. The current version, 5.1.1, was released on May 15.

The developers don't expect that Apple will roll out a quick fix for the latest iOS hack.

"Of course, they are going to patch things. But I'm not sure they will release a new version of iOS just for this. I think they will wait for iOS 6," said team member Cyril, according to IDG.

In addition to the ability to jailbreak the latest operating system, Absinthe 2.0 is untethered, which is more desirable than other jailbreaks because it allows users to reboot their devices without plugging them into external computers. This means the device will remain jailbroken if the user reboots.

The software can be used on the iPhone 4S, 4 and 3GS and breaks ground being the first untethered jailbreaking solution for the latest iPad.

The team expect their latest software to be downloaded about a million times, they said during a press conference following the announcement.

Former NBA coach and defensive guru Bob Kloppenburg, a Bellevue resident and former coach with the Seattle Supersonics among other teams, will be inducted into the charter class of the John Marshall High School (Los Angeles) Hall of Fame on June 15.

NJ officials: NYPD Muslim surveillance legal, Huge Defeat for ...

Despite the best efforts of Hamas-linked CAIR's Honest Ibe Hooper and Nihad Awad, it is still legal for Americans to defend themselves against Islamic jihad. At least so far.

"NYPD Muslim surveillance legal, New Jersey officials say," from the Associated Press, May 26:

TRENTON, N.J. ? New York City police did not violate New Jersey laws when they conducted surveillance of Muslim businesses, mosques and student groups, Gov. Chris Christie's administration said Thursday following a three-month review, a finding that angered Muslim leaders who had sought a clampdown on the cross-border police operations.

The conclusion by Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa, a Christie appointee asked by the governor to look into the spying, means New Jersey Muslims have no state recourse to stop the New York Police Department from infiltrating student groups, videotaping mosque-goers or collecting their license plate numbers as they pray.

Such operations were part of a widespread NYPD program to collect intelligence on Muslim communities both inside New York and beyond. Undercover officers and informants eavesdropped in Muslim cafes and monitored sermons, even when there was no evidence of a crime. The result was that many innocent business owners, students and others were cataloged in police files.

The interstate surveillance efforts, revealed by The Associated Press earlier this year, angered many Muslims and New Jersey officials. Some, like Newark Mayor Cory Booker and the state's top FBI official, criticized the tactics. Others, like Christie, focused more on the fact that the NYPD didn't tell New Jersey exactly what it was up to.

In response, Chiesa launched what he described as a fact-finding review. That review concluded that the NYPD's operations violated no state laws, either civil or criminal....

Chiesa, the governor's former chief counsel and a longtime confidante, outlined the state's findings in closed-door meetings Thursday afternoon with Muslim leaders.

"We remain committed to striking the appropriate balance of ensuring the safety of our citizens through vigilance in fighting terrorism, while not undermining the public's confidence in how we approach that mission," Chiesa said in a written statement.

Muslim leaders said they were told that every instance of NYPD activity in New Jersey had been justified by a lead, but that the attorney general would not provide any details on the nature of any of those leads, saying the fact-finding was ongoing.

They said that they did not find the assertion credible and that their efforts to maintain communication between the community and law enforcement would be hurt by the findings that the NYPD had done nothing wrong ? and could keep doing what they have been doing.

"It was basically an, 'FYI, good Thursday afternoon, let it die in the media before the Memorial Day weekend,'" said Mohamed El-Filali, executive director of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, across the Hudson River from New York. If the surveillance of every mosque, burger joint and barbershop targeted was justified, he asked, why were no arrests made?

Aref Assaf of the American Arab Forum said the attorney general made them feel like second-class citizens.

"I said to him it's not only insulting, it's offensive to our sense of justice, that you bring us to Trenton to tell us that you accept as legal and valid the actions of the NYPD, and I will not be surprised if you're issuing an order informing your law enforcement officials that they too can spy on American Muslisms [sic] because if it's legal for NYPD, than it must be legal for NJ to do the same."

The Muslim leaders said they would consider all legal options, including renewed appeals for action by the U.S. Justice Department. A federal civil rights lawsuit has also been considered....

The NYPD has long maintained that its operations were lawful and necessary to keep the city safe. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the NYPD can gather intelligence anywhere in the country it wants and is not required to tell local authorities. NYPD lawyers say they are not bound by jurisdictional lines because they are just collecting intelligence, not making arrests or otherwise acting as police.

Told of New Jersey's findings, Bloomberg's spokesman, Marc La Vorgna, said in a statement: "We've said it time and again, NYPD has kept the city safe and they conduct their work legally."

The attorney general said a directive he issued requires all New Jersey law enforcement agencies to notify the New Jersey State Police Counter-Terrorism Bureau and the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness if they hear of outside departments working in New Jersey. The state agencies will then coordinate with the Joint Terrorism Task Force, of which the NYPD is a member.

Chiesa said he is also establishing a Muslim outreach committee....

?What if the leading energy in our lives were to be our heart and our heart?s cry? What if living a ?spiritual life? was actually synonymous with living a ?heart-centered life?? These are some of the questions I have been asking myself?and the answers have pushed me more and more into prioritizing what I am calling ?spiritual friendship.? What is spiritual friendship to me? It is the genuine meeting of two people who are vulnerable and open and truth-telling and available for actual contact and communion at the feeling level.

What this means is that interpersonal challenges can?t be healed on the meditation cushion or in solitary retreat. Wounds from relationship require the context of relationship for healing. This seems pretty obvious, huh? But as someone who has been a meditator now for almost three decades, this was not something that was obvious to me in the early stages of my journey. Somehow I thought I was going to open completely to the universe and all of its mystery without ever needing to relate closely and vulnerably with others.

What I am actually finding is that connecting with other people in a heart-centered way is not just about healing. It is actually the most rewarding and fulfilling part of my life. Period. There is something about being fully received by another person and fully receiving another person, without the need for any part to be edited or left out, that feels to me like the giving and receiving of the greatest soul nourishment that there is.?

What Tami Simon describes is the healing relationships I have experienced in spiritual communities like my sangha, in Alanon and CODA, recently? in a wonderful? ?meet up? group called ?egonots?.? I know from my friends in AA they have those spiritual relationships as well.? Unconditional love and focus on who you are other than this? false, grasping, frightened ?self?. ? The openess and vulnerablity is greater in those relationships than most marriages and all romances.? Yet?

I still hear young women worrying about not finding ?love.? I too remember pacing the earth on constant look-out for ?love? that would make life worth living.? Maybe young women now? no longer plan their entire future based on marriage and family, but the pressure is still there.? Witness the flourishing wedding planning businesses.? Much of this has to do with wanting to have children.? I remember being told by a friend that ?having children is what gives life meaning; it is the purpose of life.?? I did not have a child then and never ended up having children.? Is my life meaningless then?

?As soon as there is ?self?, there is selfishness.These two are very different, nonetheless, they are inseparable. The ?self arises, then selfishness comes?. Selfishness gives rise to love, greed, anger, hatred, fear, worry, frustration, envy, jealousy, possessiveness. All of these are aspects of selfishness. What does the self need?? Everything. From whom?? Another self. ? And when that changes or lessens, as it always does, the self needs More. From another self, and yet another?.Or one other who must fulfill its demands.

What does your buddhanture need? To be love.

Enough said.

So, here I am going to offer an unpopular conclusion, a radical conclusion, one that I?m sure will raise many objections, but here it goes:? If we assume the self, the body and all the physical forms our mind creates constitute reality, then the purpose of life is to procreate an extension of yourself.? However, if the purpose of life is to awaken from the illusion of self and see the unity of all that is, then it is not necessary to marry and procreate at all.

So you might say, that the love between husband and wife and children is the deepest love a human being can achieve.? And that is why women, especially, long for that from young ages.? Even gay people long for the same.? And the divorce rate is 50%.? We can only imagine the percentage of marriages mired in the selfishness of ?self? but unable or unwilling to change or grow.

What if, as Tami Simon, says in her quote, that our societies had as a value to aim for love that is not aimed at the self? And I am not talking about the neurotic selflessness of all those who adopt the mother/wife as? martyr role. What if our dream was not of our wedding, our cake, our dress, our honeymoon, our children, our house, our cars?.?? The needs and desires and attachments of the self underlie the entire ?dream.?

I have watched the pain and loneliness of my single women friends as search and do not find love. We fear we won?t find?? romance, passion,? our soul mates (definition:? someone who is what I want him or her to be).? We eventaully lose romance, passion or we divorce our ?soul mates.?

?Love through fear and worry, are just different aspects of selfishness.?

Love based on craving and desperation is no love at all?it is need; the need of wounded, frightened children.? This is the longing for parents, not partners.? Yet it is celebrated as the key to happiness and fulfillment.? How can children not follow that dream?? Why do we burden them with is illusion for the rest of their lives?

So am I proposing a hermit?s life?? Am I suggesting we all sit on the mat and meditate all alone for the rest of our lives.? Punish our ?selves? and try to be rid of them so we are not selfish? No.

I am suggesting what Tami Simon talks about:? The source of true love is a unique type of friendship, not a romantic or sexual bonanza.? What is a spiritual friendship??? It is aptly described by a quote from a Facebook friend in India:? When two minds with same interests come together they develop understanding, when two hearts with same feelings come together they create love. And when both mind and heart with common understandings and feelings come together, they create a beautiful relationship?Friendship!?

In the spiritual friendship I believe I am experiencing, I am not craving another to approve of my ?self,?? to have the other do what my ?self? wants, to fill the needs my ?self? thinks must be filled.? In a spiritual friendship we love what is beyond the ?self? and what is common to everyone, buddhanature.? We strive to see buddhanature in each other and all others.? Our Minds open to the mystery of who we are beyond these two seemingly separate selves.? Far from fear, we are free to be apart, to aim for non-attachment that is grounded in universal love, agape. Only what does not change is true.? But hat does not change is what is allowed to change, is not threatened by change.? The solid ground, the secure source of our buddhanature.? Buddha friend, I see your nature, I salute your nature, I feel comforted and loved by that changeless nature.? Buddha friend you appear in this body, with this face and in all bodies, all faces.

No reason to seek another.? No reason to fear. ? But when your friend appears you will be looking into the mirror of your own complete, unchanging nature.? Ah, true self, your nature is to be love, not seek it.

Toronto is quite a buzz with the upcoming press conference announcing the nominees for the 33rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 10: 00 hours in rehearsal studios of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre. The nominees will be announced this year by Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus. In addition, Councilman Krystin Wong Tam announce the winner of the Barbara Hamilton Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts. The press conference will also include the presentation of the George Luscombe Award for mentorship in theater and Leonard McHardy and John Harvey Award for mentorship in theater and Leonard McHardy and John Harvey Award for Arts Administration will also be presented.

Dora?

The Doras are named for Dora Mavor Moore (1888 ? 1979), a beloved teacher and director who helped establish Canadian professional theater in the 1930s and 1940s.
