I previously thought that computer dating began with Match.com, or one of other old dating sites back in the 90s. How wrong I would be. Okay, online dating as we know it today started around that time. After all, it could not have started at a time when computers and internet were not readily available. What dates back much longer is computer matchmaking, or what would be called the compatibility profile. How long ago are we talking about? try 1966.
As IBM celebrates their centennial this year, we offer this photo from a period when their computers were becoming a regular part of consumer culture.
